Working with the Shoalhaven museums to digitise their collections. I worked with 4 museums to help select and prepare their collections for digitisation and sharing on the Storyplace website.

I have recently developed and delivered a workshop for M&G NSW which is to be part of a series delivered across the regions of NSW. The workshop is supported by funding from CreateNSW and is under the banner - Let’s Get Prepared. 

I have had the pleasure of acting as Museum Advisor for the Wellington Museum for the past 18 months. Some highlights include developing and running workshops, guiding the volunteers on collection care, and taking part in discussions with council.

Collection disaster planning is one way to prepare our museums and has always been one of my passions. Since I first started as a conservator and I responded to a fire related recovery of an art collection in Sydney I could see the importance of preparing for disasters.

The Museums Australia Far North Coast Chapter hired me to teach volunteers from over 8 museums in the region how to handle mould. The training session took place in Lawrence, a town on the Clarence River, and had more than 30 participants.

A workshop at Penrith Regional Gallery that focused on two key aspects of taking care of collections: cleaning and box making. The gallery staff wanted to catalogue and audit their collection — an ideal time to clean and store the items properly.

I thought I would share my involvement with the AICCM Preventive Conservation Special Interest Group (PSIG) as the current convenor where I have spent months co-organising a forum of 10 monthly webinar discussions titled “Agents of Change: 10 Agents over 10 Months”

I have had the opportunity to work with Jan Saundercock at the Lithgow and District Family History Society (LDFHS) as Museum Advisor for Lithgow LGA. One of the recent projects that Jan and I worked on was sorting, cleaning and rehousing the Holt collection.

I have spent the last six months as part of the team of installers, registrars, AV experts, collection managers, curators, artists, technicians, builders, carpenters, electricians and many other experts contributing to 22nd Biennale of Sydney: NIRIN.

I have had the pleasure of working closely with the staff at Fairfield City Museum and Gallery over the last year, who had begun the enormous task of digitising their entire collection prompting some up-skilling of staff in object handling and collection storage.

Over the past 12 months I have had the pleasure of working with several volunteer museums and cultural organisations in Lithgow. Developing and delivering workshops and training sessions was one way to share my knowledge and assist in the care of their collections.
